On the 80th anniversary of the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, Loyola University Chicago (LUC) coordinated a pilgrimage of religious leaders and university students from the United States to pay tribute and pray for peace.
Professors and students from U.S. Catholic universities took part in the pilgrimage, accompanied by the Archbishops of Chicago, Washington, DC, Seattle, and Santa Fe. Emilce Cuda, Secretary of the Pontifical Commission for Latin America, also participated in the pilgrimage within the framework of the Building Bridges Initiative.
